HP introduced the new HP Designjet Z3200 photo printer at Photokina 2008 on Tuesday.

The Designjet Z3200 uses HP Vivera pigment inks, 50 original HP large-format printing materials and prints photographs in black-and-white and color, art enlargements, and proofs.  The 12-ink printing system including HP 70 130-ml ink cartridges and the HP 70 130-ml gloss enhancer ink.   According to HP, it also features HP 73 Chromatic Red ink which enables up to 95 percent PANTONE coverage.


The printer features print resolution up to 2400 x 1200 optimized dpi, print speeds up to 12.4 minutes per page in best print mode and one 10/100 BaseT Ethernet connection.


There will be two different sized models of the Designjet Z3200: the 24-inch model will be sold for $3,395 and the 44-inch model retails at $5,595.


Both models are supposed to be available in October 2008.
